"Not so long ago the road at the end of our street used to boast three wedding dress shops in close proximity to each other. They were interspersed with fast food takeaways, hair and nail salons, betting shops, international grocery stores and pubs. The local Asda supermarket still holds sway in the area but this particular purveyor of wedding gowns is no longer in business despite its frequently lavish window displays and the remarkable deals it offered. Yes, the gown in the window realy was 1p. Sadly we don't know what became of it but like to think the lucky recipient is living in marital bliss, or at least made a tidy profit on eBay."
