The Hyman Collection has acquired several over-sized exhibition prints by Bill Brandt de-accessioned by the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Acquired in 1969 by MoMA for their important Bill Brandt exhibition that year, these stark blacks and white prints exemplify Brandt's preferred printing style of the late 1960s onwards. Their exceptional size is rarely matched elsewhere in Brandt's career. The exhibition was a crucial moment in the artist's career, consolidating his international staure.
