"We felt obliged to treat ourselves to a cream tea in Tintagel, birthplace of the legendary King Arthur and teeming with Arthurian tearooms and souvenir shops. We assembled these scones the Cornish way i.e. with jam on the bottom and cream on top; they do it the other way around in Devon. The cream should always be clotted and can be considerably yellower and crustier than this".
