"I adore this picture! It left me with terribly bruised ribs from jumping up on the mantle piece about 50 times to get it right, but it is a perfect example of what I try to achieve in my work: a balance of humour and beauty. Of trying to fit in, to become part of the landscape of the room, but ultimately always failing! Keeping warm by the fire, being an object on the mantelpiece, clinging on quite painfully and perilously while fighting to appear in control and elegant!"
