"This was a favourite landmark of ours on Smithdown Road, an area that has undergone major regeneration in recent years. We're not sure what went on behind those shutters, which we never saw open, but have heard some compelling theories. The shop's reincarnation as an international food store put an end to any conjugating on sunbeds that might have taken place."
