Signed 'David Mach' on the reverse.

David Mach's photo-collages often reference Britain. In this work from 1987, Mach combines quintessential aspects of English High and Low culture.

The title comes from the nursery-rhyme, Humpty Dumpty, and appropriately the postcards that make up the work are of the Royal pageantry of the 'Trooping of the Colour'. Meanwhile, the central image alludes to the tabloid newspaper, The Sun, and its infamous 'page 3 girls' such as Samantha Fox.
