Collaboration with Rosy Martin.

Four colour photographs mounted by the artist onto black cardboard.

Each photograph: 18.1 x 12.6 cms
Total dimensions: 40 x 30 cms

Spence has explained this photo therapy session as "Working on the emotional roots of patterns of eating, with myself as both subject and director of photography." Jo Spence, Putting myself in the picture: A political, personal, and photographic autobiography, 1986, p.182.

Rosy Martin writes that in this work Spence is "performing the excesses of emotional eating" and proposes as alternative titles "Sugar, Sugar" or "Emotional Feeding ... Sugar, Sugar refers to a popular song."

We are grateful to Rosy Martin for her assistance in cataloguing this work.
