The image in this photograph is copyright United Press International and was taken by the photojournalist Pat Benic.
The image shows Margaret Thatcher on her 1981 visit to New York city. The image has been framed with black and orange paint and pencil to prepare a cropped version for press publication.
A caption further explains:
'NXP2037904-2/28/81-NEW YORK: Britain's Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher wave to onlookers after being presented with a rose upon arrival for visit 2/28 to New York. UPI pb/Benic.the reverse there is an attached label for, 'Thatcher Margaret'.
Over the label, is the first two of five date stamps on the reverse. The earliest date stamp is for, 'MAR1 1981 M,' and the latest date stamp is for, 'APR 15 1986 E'.
Also over to the label is the first of two small pieces of yellow paper attached to the reverse.
Additionally, the reverse has been stamped with the word, 'OTHER'.
Finally, on the reverse there is a barcode sticker numbered, 'AFV-942-BS'.
