Barry Lewis describes the image: 'Butlins holiday camp, Skegness from a story I made for the Observer Magazine in 1982. The slogan 'Our true intent is all for your delight' was borrowed by Billy Butlin from Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream which he found on a sign for a fairground ride.⠀
Holiday camps were an institution in the UK up until the mid 80's when foreign travel became more affordable. I stayed in holiday camps as a kid and worked in the Butlins kitchens when leaving school'.⠀
