The photographers have explained that "Charlie Wright lives in the last of 600 houses which once stood in the once thriving Rivers Street estate near Birkenhead docks. Despite the council's last efforts to remove him, Charlie defiantly refuses to leave his 'castle', the interior of which resembles a small stately home."
