Chris Shaw. The Weeds of Wallasey

The Hyman Collection contains several, often experimental, prints from Chris Shaw's elegaic series The Weeds of Wallesey. Chris Shaw has written that this series addresses "the battle between industry and nature as reflected in my hometown.. weeds as a metaphor for my roots, wallasey docks on the wirral 2007-2012... this area is now under proposed major development - the wirral waters project - chinese partners in a multi-million pound property scheme and trade hub complex... despite the proposed high rise glass and chromethere will always be weeds."
