Paul Barkshire, born in the UK in 1953, studied photography in Canada before returning to England in 1978 and focusing his practice on depicting historic buildings.
His work mainly deals with architecture and public spaces, including unfamiliar as well as familiar locations. He always prints the full images and never crops or scales his shots. He has exhibited widely across Europe including an exhibition at the Photographers’ Gallery in 1984 and his work is incuded in the collection of the British Council.
