Christina Broom

Christina Broom (1856-1939) was Britain's first woman press photographer. In 1903 she published her first news photographs as postcards. 
Her career spanned over three decades and included a wide variety of public events such as the Oxford and Cambridge boat races, historical pageants, garden parties and Suffragette meetings. She also took numerous photographs of the Household Brigade, serving as their official photographer, and of members of the Royal Family.

Broom's work was the subject of a major exhibition at the Museum of London in 2015, which was accomapnied by a substantial book on the photographer.
